Why Mozilla?
Mozilla Corporation is the non-profit-backed technology company that has shaped the internet for the better over the last 25 years. We make pioneering brands like Firefox, the privacy-minded web browser, and Pocket, a service for keeping up with the best content online. Now, with more than 225 million people around the world using our products each month, we’re shaping the next 25 years of technology and helping to reclaim an internet built for people, not companies. Our work focuses on diverse areas including AI, social media, security and more. And we’re doing this while never losing our focus on our core mission – to make the internet better for people.
The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit 501(c) Mozilla Foundation. This means we aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our mission. Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.
About this team and role:
Mozilla Finance is responsible for strategic prioritization and day-to-day financial operations as Mozilla scales its mission impact with new and existing products, technology, and business models to better serve users and advance our goal of a healthier internet.
We are seeking a hardworking Strategic Financial Revenue Specialist to lead our revenue forecasting and modeling function. This role will be responsible for key deliverables to senior leadership and will oversee developing cross-functional business partnerships, leading special projects, improving processes, financial reporting, and assisting with implementing business intelligence tools.
To succeed, you will need to develop creative solutions to abstract strategic problems, deliver your work in a compelling format, and balance big-picture thinking with outstanding attention to detail.
What you’ll do:
Leadership of revenue forecasts and planning processes for Mozilla, including process management, communication, and reporting
Strong partnership collaboration with DRIs, cross-functional teams, FP&A and analytics teams to ensure timely and accurate revenue and contribution margin reporting, as well as forecasts and plans (annual and LRP)
Build and maintain a library of financial models used to evaluate the impact of investment opportunities, inclusive of market sizing
Expand financial modeling capabilities to increase the efficiency and accuracy of FP&A's forecast and guide our strategic decision-making on key revenue/margin driver outputs
Influence revenue and operational performance measurements such as Churn, LTV, CAC return on investment, EBITDA, etc., along with enterprise standards for their calculation
Lead frequent ad hoc projects to support management and business decisions
What you’ll bring:
7-10+ years of related experience, specifically developing Search, SaaS, and Advertising models, inclusive of collecting/maintaining model data
Understanding of revenue recognition principles, including Tax & Foreign Currency considerations in a tiered pricing subscription structure
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as well as within and across functional teams
Ability to partner/form relationships so that models articulate new products and release impacts, especially fine-tuning timing expectations between current investments and future revenue
Proven understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
Experience with business intelligence dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools is required
Experience telling stories with data and creatively approaching complexities.
Commitment to our values:
