THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
Ulta is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to support the development of Ulta's Retail Media Network. The Lead Software engineer will work with the product owner and other engineers across Ulta, contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, code testing).
The product lead engineering will be cross functional and have full stack knowledge including architectural design, cloud engineering, app/web technologies, SaaS platforms, and API-first implementation.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
- Leadership: Needs to be able to lead highly technical engineering teams, levering their ability to architect software, implement product vision, and deliver code with an agile and iterative model
- Engineering Expertise: Needs to be highly competent in software design patterns, cloud engineering, security, encryption & cryptography, coding languages ranging from JavaScript (Node.JS, React) to OOP (Java, C#, SWIFT), including POC development.
- Team/Cultural Champion: Experience leading engineers and developers as product delivery teams to build a high performing culture rooted in customer centricity while implementing proper coding standards, recommending languages, frameworks & SaaS platforms, and implementing automated testing
- Business & Stakeholder Relationship Management: Experience championing continuous delivery and helping engineers improve their skills, including fostering strong relationships with product owners
A successful candidate will be able to:
- Establish a Technical Roadmap in partnership with the Product Owner taking into account existing platforms available at Ulta and recommending improvements based on observations.
- Lead Platform Implementations in the following areas:
- Customer Data Platform (CDP)
- Data Clean room
- Verification Vendors
- Customer Data Platform (CDP)
- Build overall front-end and back-end applications
- Lead work on building ML models, ETL processes, and working with data warehouses
- Lead in the development, code review, and standards of applications using React, NodeJS, and GraphQL
- Implement solutions in cloud environments leveraging Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure
- Design new solutions and system architecture across a diverse technology stack
- Translate graphic designs, and business processes into production ready products
- Work with enterprise architecture resources to provide technical expertise
- Partner with Product Owners to identify technical requirements and functional needs of upcoming features.

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related practical experience
- 7+ years' experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in software development: NodeJS, React, GraphQL, Java, SWIFT, and at least 2 years' experience working with data including modeling, ETL, and integration tools and techniques
- Expertise working with big data technologies such as focusing around SQL
- Experience working with Customer data, customer identifiers, and PII
- Experience working with 1 st and 3 rd party data
- Expertise in digital advertising with customer digital identities including PII Identifiers, and web cookies
- Knowledge working with first party, and third-party data
- Expertise with API design and development
- Proven experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
- Proven experience with back-end development skills and languages including Python, and Node.js
- Experience with server-side frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or NGINX.
- Experience with machine learning technologies, working with concepts and algorithms, and ability to build and deploy models
- Proven experience with agile (continuous delivery) and iterative methodologies
- Understand life cycles across marketing and digital products
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical solutions
: The pay range for this position is $98,000.00 - $132,200.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
