Junior Operations Analyst
Position overview
We are looking for a Junior Operations Analyst who will be part of the Operations team serving in work streams like the payments execution, reconciliations, general back office or cards. As a Junior Operations Analyst you will become an expert in the systems operation and operational processes. The ideal candidate is a true team player knowing that the interaction with other teams is the rule. A positive and collaborative attitude are basic key characteristics to have a correct performance. Flexibility is at the core of Xapo Operations, the candidate is expected to quickly adapt to changing assignments and rotating responsibilities. The candidate must be keen on understanding the operative model, and the holistic functioning of Xapo Bank. Internally (how different teams and departments interact), and externally (which is the role of Xapo Bank in the fintech/crypto/banking space, and how it interacts with other players).
Responsibilities
Payments Operations: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to customer transactions, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Perform daily or weekly payments to vendors or business partners.
Reconciliations: manage transaction statements to be able to perform reconciliations of the assets of the company, carry out controls to ensure financial data quality, completeness and integrity and provide quick support to the Finance team.
Cards: Monitor transaction processing including authorizations and settlements, manage the debit card transaction disputes and frauds claims. Assist the Customer Support team with customer inquiries.
Back Office: assist with various operations-related tasks ensuring timely completion of related activities.
Participate in ad hoc tasks and projects, contributing to team success with flexibility and a proactive attitude.
Develop, maintain, and improve operational policies, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Identify, propose, and document enhancements to processes and internal controls to align with best industry practices and optimize operations.
Skills needed
Relevant working experience in Operations departments, ideally from a bank, fintech, payments or any finance-related institution.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or a related field
Proven experience in at least one of the following: payments, banking, financial reconciliation, card payments and card disputes.
Strong work ethics, ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and execute in a dynamic environment.
Very good communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Data oriented. Advanced excel or database skills. High attention to details.
Interested in technology and cryptocurrencies.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Organized. Proactive. Self-starter.
Keen on problem-solving and an attitude to adopt solutions into our daily ways-of-working
Nice to have experience in some of these tools: Jira, Confluence, Miro, Finastra, any Core Banking Platform, G-Suite, Slack, Zoom, Mastercard Connect, VISA Online.
