About the role
As an Infrastructure Lead, you will play a crucial role in delivering our mission to create a seamless payment experience. You will bridge the gaps between security, QA, and development teams, manage application deployment, and automate and improve development and release processes. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the Dev team to understand the application architecture, and ensuring the availability, performance, and capacity of applications and their infrastructure.
Team Collaboration: Bridge the gaps between security, QA, and development teams to ensure cohesive operations.
Architecture Understanding: Work with the Dev team to understand the application architecture and identify bottlenecks.
Performance Monitoring: Own the end-to-end availability, performance, and capacity of applications and their infrastructure.
Internal Infrastructure: Create, manage, and maintain the internal infrastructure platform which manages the CI/CD process, data stores, and other essential services.
Support & Documentation: Provide 24x7 infrastructure and application support, building processes, and documenting 'tribal' knowledge.
Outage Management: Manage outages, perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) with developers, and identify ways to prevent recurrence.
Mentorship: Mentor and train L1 and L2 engineers, continually improving app and infrastructure support processes.
Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and reduce toil.
On-Premise Infrastructure: Manage and maintain on-premise infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Networking Expertise: Design, implement, and optimize advanced network architectures. Manage and troubleshoot complex networking issues involving routing protocols, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network security. Understanding and experience with advanced networking concepts like MPLS, BGP, and IPv6 are highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in managing high traffic, large-scale microservices and infrastructure.
Extensive experience in DNS, TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, and advanced networking technologies such as MPLS, BGP, and IPv6.
Extensive experience with both Linux and Windows administration and understanding of various kernel subsystems (memory, storage, network, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in troubleshooting, managing, and deploying containerized environments using Docker/containerd.
Experience in managing and maintaining on-premise infrastructure, including physical servers, storage systems, and network devices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform detailed root cause analysis.
