Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a
journey to becoming a global company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business.
About the job
This position is needed to work as part of a global specialist International Tax Team. You will spend your time collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting on information for tax purposes, assisting with the completion of tax returns and transfer pricing submissions for international entities.
You will have the opportunity to use and develop your skills in a variety of tax applications, mainly related to financial reporting, compliance and tax optimisation work. You will add value through your ability to understand and communicate to others, including non-specialists, about tax matters and their impact on the business, and balancing conflicting demands and working to tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Work as part of the International Tax team gathering, validating and compiling quantitative and qualitative tax information, from multiple internal and/or external sources, to ensure accuracy and completeness
Carrying out financial and tax analysis and compiling reports for tax purposes including:
Returns for Corporation Tax and Transfer Pricing filings
Tax provisions for quarterly and annual US GAAP filings and Statutory Reporting and Accounts
Internal forecasts and tax reviews
Tax changes and their impact on the business
Communicating and liaising with finance and business colleagues as necessary to check accuracy, give or obtain further information and/or resolve queries
Ensuring tax information and interpretation is presented clearly, unambiguously and in a readily comprehensible and appropriate format for the audience and business purpose
Contributing to robust tax processes, ensuring stringent financial control as well as compliance with Twilio policies and other regulatory requirements
Contributing to a wide variety of projects and initiatives to enable business objectives to be met in a tax efficient way
Qualifications
Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!
Required:
You are someone who thrives in a fast- paced environment and can easily shift between the details and the “big picture”
You love data and reconciliations with strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Ideally, you have 1-3 years of experience working on International Tax matters within a multinational environment
Third level qualification in Tax or Accounting, or relevant experience
Desired:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
A desire to maintain and enhance our unique culture and an ongoing desire to strive for continuous improvement by adding your talents to Twilio is highly desired.
Location
This role can be based in Ireland, Canada or UK and is a remote role.
What We Offer
There are many benefits to working at Twilio, including, in addition to competitive pay, things like generous time-off, ample parental and wellness leave, healthcare, a retirement savings program, and much more. Offerings vary by location.
Twilio thinks big. Do you?
We like to solve problems, take initiative, pitch in when needed, and are always up for trying new things. That's why we seek out colleagues who embody our values — something we call Twilio Magic. Additionally, we empower employees to build positive change in their communities by supporting their volunteering and donation efforts.
