Instructional Design Manager
We are looking for an Instructional Design Lead to join the Pinterest Academy team at Pinterest. This position is responsible for leading the design and development of engaging, learner-centered training courses, modules, and materials for advertisers, with a focus on agencies and our global advertiser base.
As an Instructional Design lead, you will manage our team of instructional designers to deliver high quality learning experiences across our entire program portfolio, including eLearning, certification, webinars, video tutorials, and in-person training workshops. In partnership with internal stakeholders and program managers, you will identify learning needs and objectives for our diverse audiences, and act as a strategic thought leader on all things content. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and project management skills, a passion for educational design, and a deep understanding of technology and advertising.
What you’ll do:
Manage a team of instructional designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment and supporting the professional development of team members.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify education and training needs and develop engaging, learner-centered instructional materials.
Design, implement, and assess comprehensive training programs that address specific skills and knowledge gaps in the adtech sector.
Manage multiple instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Utilize data analysis and learner feedback to continuously improve training programs and instructional design practices.
Foster relationships with various stakeholders, including PMM, sales, and engineering teams, to ensure alignment of training initiatives with business goals.
Stay current with industry trends in instructional design and Adtech, incorporating new insights into training strategies.
What we're looking for:
10+ years of experience in Instructional Design and at least 2 years in a people management role.
Proven experience in designing learning experiences for external audiences, ideally in the Adtech industry.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Storyline, Evolve) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Excellent project management skills to keep complex, simultaneous work streams on track across global teams from beginning to end.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Strong written and verbal presentation skills to influence XFN partners and lead cross functional meetings.
Ability to pivot, problem solve in real time and drive operational excellence.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as digital advertising, learning design or equivalent experience.
