Who We Are Looking For:
As the Head of Data Foundation, you will play a crucial role in driving our company´s data sourcing and strategy and ensuring that we have the right data infrastructure and resources to support our future growth. You will build and lead a team of engineers, who will work closely with implementation and domain experts, the product management team, and external partners to optimise our data capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, product management experience, and expertise in working with semantic databases.
The Right Person Would Have:
1. Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers.
Define team goals and objectives in alignment with Makersite´s overall data strategy.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.
Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to execute key initiatives effectively.
2. Data Strategy & Road mapping:
Collaborate with product management and other internal and external stakeholders to define, source, and prioritize data requirements based on our current and future customer needs.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive data roadmap, outlining key milestones and initiatives through a thorough understanding of our product's capabilities.
Identify opportunities for innovation and optimization in data processes and systems.
Drive the execution of the data roadmap, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
3. External Partnerships
Work closely with external partners and vendors to acquire and integrate relevant data sources.
Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure the quality and accuracy of data inputs.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners, ensuring alignment with the business goals and objectives.
4. Data Governance & Compliance
Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and industry standards.
Implement measures to monitor and mitigate risks related to data privacy and security.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in data engineering or a related role
Proven experience in product management, with a track record of driving successful product initiatives.
Strong technical proficiency in database management, data modeling, and ETL processes.
Experience working with semantic databases and knowledge graphs is highly desirable.
Highly effective in working with data that has extensive relational connections
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to build and execute on data roadmaps, delivering tangible business outcomes.
Experience working with external partners and managing vendor relationships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
