Group Product Manager
Our Mission and Opportunity
Early education is one of the greatest determinants of childhood outcomes, is a must for working families, and has a lasting social and economic impact. Brightwheel’s vision is to enable high quality early education for every child — by giving teachers meaningfully more time with students each day, engaging parents in the development of their kids, and supporting the small businesses that make up the backbone of the $175 billion early education market. Brightwheel is the most loved technology brand in early education globally, trusted by thousands of educators and millions of families.
Our Team
We are a fully remote team with employees across every time zone in the US. Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. Our exceptional investor group includes Addition, Bessemer Venture Partners, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, GGV Capital, Lowercase Capital, Emerson Collective, and Mark Cuban.
We believe that everyone—from our employees to the students, teachers, and administrators we serve— should be given the opportunity to learn and thrive, whatever their background may be. We celebrate diversity in all forms because it allows our team and the communities we serve to reach their full potential and do their best work. From decision making, to how we operate, we ground ourselves in our Leadership Principles every day.
Our Culture
We challenge ourselves every day to bring our mission to transform early education for every child everywhere to life. We do that by deeply understanding our customers’ needs — for today and into the future — and by collaborating together to deliver an exceptional experience that solves their most acute problems.
On the Product team, how we build is just as important as what we build. We are owners — we hold ourselves accountable to our commitments and see our work through to maximize our impact. We are growth-minded. We learn and iterate, and we seek to continuously improve our processes. We marry data, insights, and intuition to make sound decisions. Yet we value speed and a strong bias for action. We lean into collaboration, assume the best from everyone, and welcome differing opinions. We have audacious goals with a can-do attitude, break down walls to get stuff done, and are resourceful in order to accomplish more with less.
Who You Are
We are looking for a strategic product leader with management experience — though this will be an IC role to start — to oversee the Education product experience. You will own defining the vision and strategy for this area, and will lead your cross-functional pod and peers to execute the highest priority initiatives that will drive business impact. Brightwheel is in a period of massive growth — we have an incredible opportunity to scale our platform, and we need your leadership, problem solving, and product management skills, combined with your personal drive and results-oriented mentality to be successful.
We are a lean, product-driven company, and have a high bar for what and how we build products. This means that you are eager to roll up your sleeves; will go deep to understand needs and use cases; and will lean in however needed to make magic happen for our customers. You will work in close partnership with colleagues across various functions, including Design, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Sales and Support, to ensure you are solving the right problems and bringing solutions to market to maximize impact.
What You’ll Do
You will develop a deep understanding and empathy for our admin, teacher and parent customers and then use these personas to inform everything you do
You understand the broader company strategy and define a vision, strategy and KPIs for your area that aligns with where the company is headed
You will define measurable objectives and key results that will give your team focus, and ensure they are working on the right problems
You will create and maintain a prioritized pipeline of opportunities, making sure the most important initiatives are properly scoped and resourced
You will lead your product area with an outcome-oriented approach and build collaborative, healthy relationships that yield results
You will apply deep critical thinking to thorny problems, ask the hard questions and translate insights that will enable your team to come up with the right solutions
You will partner closely with cross-functional colleagues throughout the product development process to ensure maximal output
You will leverage data and analysis to uncover new problems and identify opportunities to improve existing products
