Group Manager, Product - Plan
As the Group Manager, Product, you will be responsible for managing and building a team that focuses on GitLab's Plan stage product categories. This role will lead the Plan Product Managers and reports to the VP of Product.
You will play a key role in defining our product strategy for our Plan stage which includes project management, product planning, knowledge management, and optimization tools. The focus right now is to mature all Plan categories Find out more about what it is like to be a PM at GitLab and what the current and future roadmap for Plan looks like here:
What you'll do
Make sure you have a great product team (recruit and hire, sense of progress, promote proactively, identify underperformance)
Work on the vision with the Product Leadership including VP of Product, Chief Product Officer and CEO; and communicate this vision internally and externally
Distill the overall vision into a compelling roadmap
Make sure the vision advances in every release and communicate this
Communicate our vision through customer conversations, demos, blogging, and interviews
Work closely with your stable counterparts in R&D including Engineering, UX and Quality along with stakeholders across Go to Market (Marketing, Sales, etc).
What you'll bring
Experience leading a team of Product Managers
Experience as a Product Manager with recognised achievements during your tenure as an IC
Experience hiring teams in high-growth companies
Experience in DevOps
Experience as a user of a tool like Jira, Monday, Trello
Technical background or clear understanding of work management and planning tools; familiarity with Agile methodologies, project management, knowledge management, and value stream optimization a plus

You will be leading a geographically distributed team of Product Managers while working closely with Engineering and UX counterparts. The team is focused on GitLab's Plan stage, which provides tools for teams to manage and optimize their work, track operational health, and measure outcomes across project management, product planning, knowledge management, and optimization capabilities.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
