About the Role:
The primary responsibilities of the role include: (1) supporting the day-to-day proposal needs of the commercial team; (2) owning and executing parts of the proposal or tender processes; (3) building relationships (both internal and external stakeholders); and (4) assisting with proposal status & negotiations when necessary. What You Bring:
3 - 6 years experience in commercial industry proposal or tender development and processes within a government sector setting (e.g. U.S. federal, international ministry, state, or county/municipality/local governments)
Experience in project managing proposal processes from start (Request for Proposals) to finish (Proposal Submission)
Ability to navigate, review, and analyze requirements of a RFx (Requests for Proposals [RFP], Requests for Information [RFI], Requests for Quotations, [RFQ]) to identify appropriate internal subject matter experts to contribute to the RFx
Experience in drafting, reviewing, and evaluating RFx responses and informational briefing papers, as well as creating proposal compliance matrix documentation for internal reviewers; ability to draft proposal templates for internal reuse (such as technical volumes, cover letters, or quotations)
Experience in reviewing, editing, and proofreading RFx responses and other materials for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with RFx instructions
Excellent sense of accountability, integrity and taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively
Ability to work with stringent deadlines and varying priorities for timely proposal submissions, while managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to provide timely feedback to internal stakeholders for bid/no-bid decisions
Be an excellent team player with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of an organization; capable independent worker, quick learner, and self-starter, who is driven and creative, yet who is still a team player who brings a positive and supportive mentality to Planet; proven history of taking initiative, working independently, being highly analytical and using good judgment
Ability to maintain a graceful and helpful customer service attitude, particularly in high-pressure and time-crunched circumstances, where priorities may shift
Meticulous organizational skills, including the ability to manage a variety of project folders and locations while maintaining document control
Competency in Google Documents, MS Word, and Excel
What Makes You Stand Out:
Experience with complex RFx processes and packages
Administration of RFx management software
4+ years of relevant work experience in government (civil or defense) RFx proposal management (preferably as a proposal writer or specialist)
Familiarity with government registration portals and systems
Mastery of MS Word/Google Documents/Adobe and other Microsoft/Google/Adobe applications required to generate text, graphics, schedules, or charts
Requirements gathering and process improvement capabilities
Familiarity with customer relationship management system reporting
Experience working in a fast-paced research and development environment
APMP certification or similar continuing proposal management education
Continuous learner, adherence to confidentiality requirements, and desire to complete projects

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $86,700 - $$142,600. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
This position requires access to export controlled technology, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access EAR and/or ITAR controlled technology pursuant to an export license approved by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
