Ecommerce Solutions Architect
Are you an experienced technical lead or architect looking to join a dynamic team focused on digital innovation and ideation; to sit in the driver's seat of structuring Salesforce Commerce Cloud as the pinnacle foundation for the web team to build dynamic experiences and technical challenging projects? A highly motivated self-starter who would like to lead a team of technical professionals in the fast paced ever growing billion-dollar beauty industry.
Tarte Cosmetics is seeking a system architect who would be responsible for growing the tarte direct-to-consumer business by providing guidance on tarte's full technical stack. Position can be fully or partially remote.
Who you are:
- Enjoy problem-solving with business stakeholders when the challenge is still loosely defined. Turn over every rock to catch as many surprises as early as possible
- Strong people leader: Mentor engineering team members on technical skills and career development
- Willing to roll up your sleeves and document your vision with flow charts, tech notes and guidance for QA/ecommerce operations
Key partners:
- Technical leads for Salesforce Commerce Cloud, tarte's order management and warehouse management systems, ERP, and security/networking,
- Product management team. You will represent the technology team when initiatives are still early in the ideation cycle.
- Your own network of industry contacts to bring recommendations of eCommerce industry best practices
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product managers to understand project goals & guide developers to meet to the goals, based on high quality, scalable code
- Partner with development leads of other systems when implementing end-to-end customer experiences:
- Order management system, leveraging REST APIs, XML and sFTP.
- ERP system
- Warehouse management systems
- Lead 3rd party integrations via Commerce Cloud connectors and API integrations. E.g.
- Front-end focused, such as virtual try-on, ratings & reviews
- Back-end focused, such as site speed, real-user monitoring (RUM), payment methods, taxes, estimated delivery dates, address verification
- Research industry best practices and to offer solutions to meet our business needs
- Develop and document architectural designs
- Continuously improve our application documentation, processes and tools
- Support the SFCC team lead on code reviews, build processes, coding standards, etc.
- Assist in the identification, analysis, and resolution of production issues
- Conduct Proof of Concept feasibility studies
- Participate in technical evaluations of potential third-party partners while in the final phases of a RFP process
Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud development - a must!
- Full-stack development capabilities with at least 8+ years in a development role and at least 3-5+ years in a development lead role.
- Expertise in web technologies including:
- JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, HTML5/CSS3
- Web analytics via Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics
- XML, SQL
- Web services (SOAP/REST)
- Open source libraries
- Experience utilizing headless commerce APIs, e.g. CommerceCloud's OCAPI, middle layers such as Mulesoft
- Knowledge of core development tools: Git, Jira, shell
- Cross-cloud Salesforce integrations (e.g. Marketing Cloud, including SQL)
- Must be hands-on-able to design, develop and deliver high quality software solutions
- Experience integrating an order management system with a warehouse management system, a major plus
