Pinterest is looking for an experienced and motivated Director, TPM to play a critical role across all consumer Pinterest products, ensuring that we deliver a personalized experience enabling Pinners to search, discover their taste, shop and ultimately create a life they love. This role is fundamental to Pinterest’s growth in the next years.
What you’ll do:
Lead, grow and manage a team of experienced Technical Program Managers, providing leadership and guidance to drive successful program execution.
Ensure the Core organization T/PgM needs are covered by proactively identifying resource gaps and misaligned priorities. In partnership with the VP of Strategy and Operations secure funding and reprioritize allocation across the team
Work closely with the Core VP of Engineering and VP of Product to contribute to the product and technology strategy
Proactively identify high-impact programs, drive yearly planning across Core and ensure our priorities, incremental opex and infrastructure costs are aligned with the business strategy and approved by our executive team
Define and manage the operating rhythms for the Core team including execution and business reviews
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment, prioritize tasks, and make crucial decisions in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders
Engage with a stakeholder across engineering, product and design at all levels, establishing and maintaining trusted connections
Qualifications and Experience
15+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Technical Program Managers and leading large-scale or complex technical initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team
Experience managing and mentoring a team of technical program managers
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about technology and business challenges
Experience working in consumer-facing product development, with a focus on search, shopping, personalization, and content
Experience working with large-scale datasets and leveraging machine learning algorithms for product features
Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in user experience, search, personalization, and e-commerce.
Capable of building credibility and fostering connections with senior executives and team members
Skilled in fostering organizational growth and cultivating a team-oriented atmosphere
Knowledge of software development processes and best practices
