Director of Retention Marketing
How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice: The Director of Retention is responsible for driving growth and revenue for the Email/SMS/Auto Replenishment and our loyalty program for US, Canada and Australia/New Zealand. This role is strategic, executional, and analytical. You will be empowered to drive new ways of providing value to our customers that are personalized and served at the most relevant time with the goal of building strong relationships with Paula’s Choice customers.
As a Director of Retention Marketing a typical day might include a mix of the following:
Create and manage monthly email/SMS calendar to ensure a diverse mix of content related to editorial, education and promotional emails/SMS. Ensure calendar activations are aligned with daily sales goals.
Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly sales forecast. Responsible for hourly pacing reporting and sales contingency planning. Execute pivots in a timely manner to meet sales goals.
Strategically develop growth plans related to the Email and SMS channel. Specifically lead generation tactics that drive email/SMS subscriber list and growth of our VIP segment.
Oversee development and execution of customer segmentation strategy
Develop and maintain sustainable revenue streams related to retention including email/SMS drips. Proactively and consistently optimize revenue streams to improve/maintain key KPI’s.
Responsible for actively reducing churn though various strategies related to unsubscribes, at risk and lapsed customers.
Accountable for and reports out on key retention rate KPI’s related to customer purchase lifecycle (cohort analysis and tracking), RPE (revenue per email), open rates, click through rates, revenue loss per opt out.

The Details:
Location: Remote, Open to U.S. based candidates
Hours: Typical PST Business Hours, with some INTL hours, and some flexibility
Physical requirements: Ability to handle both sitting and screen time for long periods of time
Travel requirements: Up to 5%, Domestic Travel.
What you’ll bring to the table:
7+ years of retention (primarily email & 3+ years text/sms marketing) marketing experience
Managed annual revenue of at least $20M in retention
Experienced in working with an email platform to create and deploy emails
Strong analytical skill set to analyze campaign and customer segmentation performance and identify opportunities
Strategic thinking and planning capability
Strong presentation skills
Ability to work with data analyst/scientist to test various audience segments
Advanced understanding of email strategy and engagement metrics
Strong background in analytics, data, A/B testing and customer segmentation
Proven experience in attribution modeling and use of AI data to drive strategies
Skilled at reporting KPI metrics via GA and ESP’s
Hands on experience managing a top revenue driving channel is a must
