Director of Internal Communications

The Director of Internal Communications will lead the creation, planning, and implementation of effective employee engagement messages and innovative communication methods. The development and execution of the global internal communications strategy will ensure clear, consistent, and engaging messaging and proactively drive mission-critical campaigns. This role involves working closely with senior leadership across the business to align internal communications with business objectives and foster a positive company culture across all levels of Pax8.
As a member of the communications leadership team, the Director of Internal Communications actively collaborates with all communications functions and other departments as both a strategic and trusted advisor. The Director will act as an influential communications advisor on a broad range of topics and messaging, including strategic priorities, issues, and channel strategy, ensuring that internal communications is an agile collaborator and partner in supporting and driving corporate communication activity.
The Director of Internal Communications serves as a creative thought partner and advisor to all key stakeholders, working collaboratively with cross-functional V-teams, connecting the dots and synthesizing complex information. They support, develop, and supervise their team by performing a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to developing and evaluating the IC strategy, editorial calendar key priorities, hiring, coaching, mentoring team development and training, and performance management.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that employees are well-informed, engaged and aligned with the Pax8 MVP, Plan8 strategy, values, and behaviors.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead: Lead team to develop and deploy strategy for employee communications and platforms aligned to the strategic priorities for organizational and geographical employee goals.
Manage: Manage a team and encourage an agile environment for the creation of ideas for and development of collateral materials (e.g., decks, posts, talking points) for use in a range of communications initiatives and events
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement internal communication strategies to support organizational goals and enhance employee engagement and foster a healthy high-performing culture. Ensure strategic intent as foundation for execution of tactics and ensures rhythm of business (e.g., cadence, intent, content to keep stakeholders informed and up to date) is established.
Align and coordinate Corp and Regional objectives, editorial calendars, and delivery: Coordinate the communication flow of initiatives and product launches through the business ensuring all regional managers can execute and tailor narratives to local requirement and channel delivery.
Content Creation: Lead team to develop and drive stories in fresh ways that generate positive perceptions towards Pax8. Ensure the creation and delivery of clear, consistent, timely and relevant communications to drive productivity and enable Pax8 to execute at pace. Oversee the creation and distribution of internal communications, including digital channels, video, newsletters, emails, intranet content, and presentations.
Innovation: Develop paradigm-breaking methods, processes, and techniques that create an internal communications motion that inspires the next generation of workers.
Executive Leadership Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders to ensure clarity, alignment, and consistency of internal messaging with business objectives, goals, and culture.
Crisis Communication: Manage internal communications during crises to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
Rhythm of the business: Curate, influence, and oversee the messaging and flow of communications through key company meetings, internal events, and core channels, to drive awareness, tackle priorities issues and requirements promoting a culture of transparency and trust in leadership decisions and direction.
Employee Engagement: Foster a positive company culture by promoting transparency, collaboration, two-way dialogue, and feedback. Be an advocate of the employee voice, and sentiment to ensure messaging builds trust and supports the Pax8 people-first ethos.
Measurement and Analysis: Monitor and measure internal communication strategies' effectiveness, adjusting based on feedback and data analysis.
Editorial collaboration: Provide leadership and guidance to the broader communications team, ensuring that all internal communications are aligned with corporate, relationship, external communications, and marketing efforts.
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
Experience: 8+ years of experience in internal communications or corporate communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, with proven experience in complex global organizational environments.
Skills: Excellent writing and editing skills, strong design skills, strong project management abilities, and proficiency with internal communication tools (e.g., intranet, email platforms). A strong set of leadership skills, including the ability to influence without authority, see around the corner to what’s next and show the initiative to proactively prepare for that, comfort with ambiguity, and a relentless drive to ship.
Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence and work collaboratively with C-level execs, SLTs and functional leads, demonstrating big picture strategic mindset, ability to problem solve and direct tactical execution to deliver desired results.
Proven track record of developing and driving strategic change and transformation communication programs through change management processes and storytelling, employee engagement, and culture initiatives. Ability to translate complex topics into meaningful, clear, concise, and compelling communications assets.
Experience of design, video, and digital content creation a plus.

Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $130,000 to $160,000, or more depending on experience.
