Director - Accounts Receivable
Locations: Broomfield, CO; Remote US Reports to: Associate VP, Revenue Management
A quick snapshot… As the Director, Accounts Receivable at Conga, you’ll lead our global collections team and drive efficiency in our accounts receivable operations. You’ll lead a team, overseeing the AR close process including reconciliation of AR sub-ledger to GL, allowance of bad debt, managing suspensions, while adhering to our credit and collections policies. You’ll also continue to implement strategies to improve collections, reduce outstanding balances, and improve DSO (days sales outstanding). You’ll collaborate across teams and leaders, streamlining processes through automation and continuous improvement.
Why it’s a big deal… Strong accounts receivable management is critical to Conga’s financial health. You’ll play a key role in keeping the business running smoothly by improving collections, reducing outstanding balances, and streamlining processes. Your work directly impacts revenue predictability, enabling the company to invest in growth, innovation, and customer success. By leading a high-performing team and driving efficiency through automation and strategy, you’ll help create a scalable, sustainable AR function that supports Conga’s long-term success.
Are you the person we’re looking for? Financial Expertise & Analytical Skills. You have a strong understanding of credit analysis and financial statements is essential for success in this role. You’ve managed a high-volume AR operation ensuring smooth reconciliations, timely collections, and compliance with GAAP standards. You'll support financial audits by maintaining “audit-proof” processes and ensuring accounting journal entries are properly reviewed.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration. You have experience leading a high-performing, global team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You have strong leadership and team-building skills to help drive results and inspire your team. You do this all while collaborating cross-functionally, especially with sales, customer success, and leadership, to support accelerating collections and resolving escalations.
Initiative. You don’t wait around for things to happen or for your manager to tell you what to do. You have a track record of proactively completing your own work and introducing projects that will benefit the team or the organization – whether that’s driving change, scaling processes and automation, or designing and implementing credit check processes -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it.
Strong attention to detail. You rarely make mistakes because you have good processes in place to ensure that every detail is correct. But in those rare occasions when errors are realized (let’s face it, it happens to the best of us from time to time), you own them, correct them, learn from them, and then quickly adjust and communicate processes to ensure the same mistake doesn’t happen twice.
Clear, deliberate, and collaborative communicator. You don’t just engage in collaborative discussions; you initiate them regularly. You are clear and concise when you speak and write -- and even creative in terms of ensuring your messages are received and understood.
Tools & Systems. You’re advanced in Microsoft Excel and have experience working with large sets of data. Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce would be beneficial.
Here’s what will give you an edge… Champion of the Customer. You understand that customers are one of business’ most important assets and you take that seriously. With more than 11,000 customers around the globe entrusting Conga with their business we make a commitment to their success and would love to hear how you will too!
Education and certifications. You’ve successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or a related field is highly preferred.
Industry expertise. Let’s face it: understanding Revenue Lifecycle Management software (CPQ & CLM) and/or Salesforce platform would allow you to hit the ground running.
