The UX Design Manager for our Growth team will lead a team focused on shaping the first-time and returning user experience. This team plays a critical role in driving Reddit’s growth by improving how users discover, onboard, and engage with the platform. Working across top of funnel, onboarding, adoption and notification pillars — this team ensures that users quickly find value in Reddit’s vast ecosystem of communities and conversations. This work directly impacts how our next set of users experience Reddit and find their communities.
As a leader, you’ll mentor and empower designers, foster a user-centered design culture, and drive initiatives that make Reddit more welcoming and accessible to a global audience. You’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, research and data teams to craft experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and scalable. Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of UX designers working across all Growth initiatives
Develop and drive the UX strategy for user growth, ensuring delightful and relevant experiences that help new and returning users find value in Reddit
Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and researchers to identify opportunities, define priorities, and execute high-impact initiatives
Advocate for user needs while balancing business goals, leveraging data and research to inform design decisions
Foster a strong design culture within the team and across the organization, championing best practices in user-centered design, experimentation, and accessibility
Establish processes that improve team efficiency, design quality, and cross-functional collaboration
Recruit, develop, and retain top design talent, providing coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities
Routinely collaborate with other consumer product teams across feeds, subreddits, and discovery to ensure design solutions scale cohesively.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience in UX/Product Design with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
2+ years managing a team, providing mentorship, coaching, and fostering a culture of feedback and collaboration.
Minimum 2 years of experience working on a consumer Growth related team
Proven experience leading design teams in fast-paced, cross-functional environments for digital consumer-facing products.
Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions that drive measurable growth, engagement, or retention.
Deep expertise in UX best practices, interaction design, and information architecture, with a strong grasp of visual design principles.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for design across all levels of the organization.
