Data Scientist - Platform

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join Figma's Core Data Science Team. In this role, you will focus on enhancing the efficiency of Data Scientists and other data practitioners at Figma by improving data quality, developing internal tools, and applying novel statistical methods to problems specific to Figma. The ideal candidate is passionate about transforming new methodologies and best practices into useful tools for others, has a proven track record of collaborating across different functions to drive impact, and is enthusiastic about creative problem-solving.
What You'll Do:
Introduce new methods to increase the rigor of the analyses conducted by the Data Science team
Create and deploy frameworks and tools to help increase the efficiency and productivity of data practitioners at Figma.
Collaborate with the broader Engineering org to identify opportunities to improve their processes and impact
Identify gaps in our data and work with other Data Scientists and Data Engineering to develop new datasets that help us understand how users are interacting with Figma
Design and implement new processes and tools to improve data quality and assist with data governance
Establish partnerships with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, Research, Design, Sales, and Marketing
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
5+ years relevant work experience in Analytics, Data Science or Software Engineering
Fluency in SQL
Excellent programming skills in Python, R, or a similar scripting language
Experience in distributed data processing systems and framework (Hive, Redshift, Presto, Snowflake, Spark, etc)
Experience developing machine learning models with common machine learning frameworks and packages like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, and SparkMLlib
Firm knowledge of statistical methods
Experience navigating complex problems, identifying solutions, and driving the execution of those solutions
Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills
A self-starting mindset along with strong communication and collaboration skills
A passion for mentoring and helping other colleagues
