Job Title: Data Governance & Metadata Management Architect (Remote)
Job Summary:
The Data Governance & Metadata Management Architect is responsible for designing and implementing a robust data governance framework, with a particular focus on metadata management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization’s data assets are effectively managed, catalogued, and governed, enabling data-driven decision-making while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The architect will work closely with data stewards, IT teams, and business collaborators to establish metadata standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for data management.
- Establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities across business units.
- Ensure compliance with data-related regulations and industry standard methodologies.
Metadata Management:
- Design and implement an enterprise-wide metadata management strategy, including the creation of a metadata repository.
- Define and maintain metadata standards, ensuring consistent use and understanding of data across the organization.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, data lineage, and business glossaries.
Technology & Architecture:
- Evaluate and recommend data governance and metadata management tools and technologies.
- Design the architecture for integrating metadata management tools with existing data platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, and data catalogs).
- Ensure that metadata management solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and business units to ensure data governance and metadata management initiatives are aligned with business goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to data stewards and other team members in the implementation of metadata management practices.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote a culture of data governance and stewardship within the organization.
- Ensure that metadata management practices align with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until 09/20/2024.
The annual salary for this position is between $110,000 – $175,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
