This position is Barcelona-based or fully remote within CET +/-2h.
Team
Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.
Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. With over seven billion downloads worldwide and a portfolio of more than 10 resilient hybrid games generating more than $20m per year, we are the world's largest and most successful hybrid publisher.
Voodoo is creating a small experimentation team with a big mission: find the next best way to entertain the world by taking our best hits to a new level. You will be one of the first members of a team of six and you will participate in every aspect of development, from ideation to testing the casual games in the market.
You will be joining one of our Live Studios, working on Bag Fight.
Role
We are looking for a talented Creative Director with a good understanding of the midcore mobile game market to help the team to deliver fun, innovative and entertaining games. You will:
- Define a clear, cohesive design pipeline for a Live Game
- Influence the roadmap and the vision of the product, acting as the copilot of the studio
- Pitch and implement big features to the team, deconstructing them into smaller components
- Own game balancing, pacing, and feel
- Always back up your ideas with available data points
- Deconstruct and analyze mobile game mechanics
- Get involved in all aspects of game development: UI, UX, game design, logic, performance, etc.
- Help fine-tune game balancing, pacing, and feel
- Benchmark the market to stay on top of new trends
- Understand models and tools to analyze gameplay and user behavior
- Build communities around the game
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a game designer or a product-related role on a Live Game, with a strong knowledge of system design and game economy
- Experience working on casual or midcore mobile games and F2P
- Creative and hacker mindset
- Strong leadership skills
- Communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented mindset
- Accountability, independence, and responsibility when given ownership over your work
- Familiarity with Unity and Figma is a plus
- Proficient in Excel for initial balancing tasks would be a plus
