The successful candidate will actively contribute to enhancing service offerings at Signature Analytics for the nonprofit vertical, assist in leading and training the operations teams, and assist our business development team in closing new deals. Signature Analytics supports nonprofits as they navigate upgrades to their technology and improvements to their financial management because we know that with better financial management, their missions can thrive.
We are a growing firm and currently looking for an experienced Controller to help contribute to our Non-Profit Vertical with the following skills:
Execution and Financial Acumen: Deep knowledge and experience with nonprofit operations, grant management and reporting, leading nonprofit audits, and financial statement reporting. The successful candidate is the technical expert at Signature Analytics for this vertical. The Controller role leads the month-end close, can perform accounting clean-up to US GAAP standards within a condensed time frame (first 60-90 days), as well as manages a team of accounting professionals (both internal and external), and leads the team to an efficient and accurate recurring engagement. The Controller must be able to perform all aspects of the month-end close process, from bank reconciliation to complex revenue recognition and accounting for grant spend.
Communication: Effective communication is essential for conveying ideas, strategies, and findings clearly and concisely to potential and current clients, teams, and stakeholders. The successful candidate is responsible for keeping both internal and external parties informed about progress and expected outcomes. Responsiveness is critical to team and client success.
Technology Focused: Experience using SA’s core apps/software/platforms and open to assisting in leading optimizing and/or implementing technologies for clients. This includes the following accounting software: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and the following apps: Expensify, Ramp, BILL (formerly Bill.com),
Network: Open to growing relationships with non-profit organizations, leaders, and Board Members. Already having an established network of non-profit relationships is a plus.
Financial Statement Audit Preparation and Facilitation: Ability to prepare for and ensure that a client has a smooth audit process. This may include preparation of support schedules.
Trusted Partner: Develops mutual respect, accountability, and value creation in the relationship that leads to making an emotional connection. Not transactional. Open to learning how to provide financial and accounting guidance to clients to help them achieve their goals.
Discipline: Effective in working in a remote/virtual setting, managing the details, and working on the daily tasks that lead to results. Ability to compartmentalize clients and successfully manage multiple engagements.
Leadership: Guides and motivates team members, manages conflicts, and fosters a collaborative environment.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 7+ years of demonstrated nonprofit accounting experience.
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university.
CPA, and/or MBA or Masters in Finance preferred.
Proficiency in G-Suite, Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite, and other accounting enablement tools required (ERP systems and accounting systems). Specifically, QBO, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Expensify, Ramp, BILL (formerly Bill.com), Reach Reporting, etc.
Proficiency in Excel.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is up to $140,000 to $160,000 annually with bonus potential depending on experience. To provide a competitive compensation package, Signature Analytics takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to: market compensation data, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. A sign-on bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to benefits (employer contribution towards medical, dental, and vision premiums; 401(k) match; professional development reimbursements; cell phone and home office stipend, etc.) depending on the position offered.
