Compensation Analyst
We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
Plaid’s Compensation Team designs, builds, and manages programs built on fairness, competitiveness, and performance. At our best, we help Plaids do the best work of their careers by building trust in how contributions and growth are rewarded. We are trusted business partners who use data to help Plaids at every level make informed decisions, on big and complex topics, at the right time.
In this role you, you will support scaling the data-driven foundations of our team. You will own models and build analyses to help us better serve our customers – directly influencing Plaid’s largest and longest-term investments: our people.
You will also build relationships across Plaid, with exposure to virtually all teams and ample opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain robust data models and analyses leading into each compensation planning cycle, managing tools, resources, and enablements for compensation planning.
Develop tools to sustain program delivery and scalable analytics, delivering useful, easy-to-use tools for Plaid’s leaders, employees, and key cross-functional teams.
Research market trends and model long-term business strategies, drawing on multiple sources to tell clear and actionable stories with data.
Own deep dives, performance analyses, and scenario models – analyzing possible outcomes, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations for the future, including recommendations for long-term business strategy.
Together with the team, share in supporting inbound requests and business processes, such as job changes, location changes, and questions from Plaids.
Qualifications
3+ years experience in analytics, data science, investment banking, FP&A, or rewards consulting (Aon, Compensia, FW Cook, Glass-Lewis, ISS, Mercer, WTW, etc).
Experience combining and analyzing data from multiple sources and making data-driven recommendations to others.
Advanced skill in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including scenario and forecast modeling.
Discretion and diplomacy to work on sensitive or confidential matters.
Interest in and motivation toward career growth and development.

Deep/exceptional interest in any intricate or technical subject: you are genuinely passionate about something interesting to you.
If you live in or near the Bay Area, we’d love to have you occasionally (2-3 days per quarter) join us at our San Francisco headquarters for team events, whiteboarding, and/or lunch.
