Commercial Manager
Details:
Location: Remote with travel to client site when required
Salary: £65,000 to £85,000
Security Clearance: Eligible for SC or DV clearance
Background:
TwinStream has a small but growing number of high-value customers. Each customer regularly requests commercial proposals from TwinStream in response to new requirements. Some customers use public sector commercial frameworks for tendering requirements for which TwinStream competes. TwinStream needs to expand its limited presence on these frameworks.
About The Role:
This role is to support the senior leadership with the commercial activities required to sustain and grow the business.
TwinStream has only a few customers, each with one or more contracts. Under each contract, customers raise requests for proposals. You will manage the lifecycle of proposals to provide timely responses that meet customer needs profitably. You will liaise with internal stakeholders to coordinate activities such as project estimation, resource planning and technical evaluation. You will take a leading role in writing the response, depending on specialists for the technical details.
You will lead the process of creating proposals for new contracts with existing and new customers, ensuring that commercial risk is evaluated and managed. You will be responsible for reviewing contracts and ensuring that terms and conditions are appropriate to TwinStream ways of working, seeking legal support as necessary and working with the senior leadership team to resolve issues.
You will be responsible for identifying public sector procurement frameworks relevant to our markets and ensuring we submit bids to be accepted onto them. You will provide input into the governance of the business to ensure TwinStream is compliant with the requirements of the appropriate frameworks and target customers. You will monitor the frameworks for opportunities to grow the business in line with our strategy. You will lead the bid process for tenders which we target.
You will work with the senior leadership team to build relationships with our customers and explore opportunities for further collaboration with them. You will help the company to identify and develop new opportunities with existing and new customers and markets.
This is a ‘hands-on’ role in which you will be producing documents, presentations and supporting material with assistance from the leadership and technical teams.
Responsibilities:
Working with solution architects, delivery leads and the senior leadership team to create sales proposals.
Supporting the senior leadership team with key client relationships to understand opportunities and requirements.
Build strong relationships with operational client stakeholders to manage the submission of bids and proposals.
Work with senior leadership team to create and implement account development plans.
Build compelling presentations, bids and proposals that communicate TwinStream’s value proposition.
Review contract documentation and negotiate terms.
Lead on the production of bids with new and existing customers.
Create and maintain reusable collateral to drive efficiency and consistency.
Advise the senior leadership team about public sector procurement.
Identify applicable public sector frameworks and lead work to getting TwinStream accepted onto them.
Monitor and analyse Government tenders to identify applicable opportunities.
Support the entire end-to-end sales cycle and assist with qualifying opportunities at every stage.
Key Skills:
Ability to produce high quality bids and proposals, using clear, concise language to convey complex ideas as simply as possible.
Ability to understand technical solutions and explain them to a non-technical audience, in writing and in person.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with customers at all levels, from technical stakeholders to business decision-makers.
Proven track record selling IT into the UK public sector. Experience in applying for and maintaining a presence on UK Government frameworks.
A strong understanding of Government procurement processes and approaches to creating successful bids.
Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure new business and expand customer relationships.
A results-oriented attitude with a passion for driving growth and achieving ambitious goals.
Strategic thinker, with a creative and innovative approach.
A positive, can-do approach to activity that drives energy and enthusiasm across the team.
