Who You Are
brightwheel is seeking an ambitious Outbound Business Development Sales Manager to lead a team of outbound Business Development Representatives (BDRs) in a high-velocity sales environment. BDRs cold call prospective customers to set up product demonstrations for Account Executives. Your team will exceed sales goals to grow brightwheel’s customer base. You are an expert in discovery and objection handling from your previous cold calling experience. You excel in managing and motivating others to results through training, coaching, and mentorship. You get a thrill from seeing others succeed and from tracking and achieving ambitious sales targets. You are dedicated to creating an environment where your team is highly engaged and doing their best work. You enjoy the fast pace and constant change of a startup.
What You’ll Do
Support BDRs to build and effectively manage their own pipelines and achieve ambitious monthly targets
Monitor key performance metrics to ensure the team is on-track to exceed quota and identify opportunities for coaching
Create a high-performing team by hiring, coaching, and developing BDRs in partnership with Sales Enablement and SalesOps
Contribute to improving sales processes, resources, and tools
Build a positive, collaborative team culture that is focused on getting better every day
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities
At least 2 years as a BDR and/or Inside Sales Representative; must include phone-based cold calling experience
At least 2 years managing a sales team of at least 6 reps strongly preferred
High-velocity sales, SaaS for SMBs, and startup experience preferred
Grit, resilience, and desire to exceed sales goals
Positive mindset with ability to navigate change and quickly adapt
Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
Excellent people management skills to coach and develop a team of BDRs
Demonstrated ability to use data to manage the sales process and maintain accountability for effective pipeline management across the team
Proficiency with CRM software and customer engagement tools
$52,000 - $56,000 a year
brightwheel is committed to internal pay equity and offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, equity, and benefits. Our benefits package includes premium medical, dental, and vision benefits, generous paid parental leave, a flexible paid time off policy, a monthly wellness and productivity stipend, and a Learning & Development stipend.
For cash compensation, brightwheel sets standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies.
In addition to equity, our annual cash compensation for this role is an annual salary range of $52,000-$56,000, with an additional variable range of $52,000-$56,000. The total on-target earnings range per year is ($104,000-$112,000) and is uncapped.
