Coforma is looking for a thoughtful and dedicated business development professional to join our growing Business Development team as the Business Development Manager, Healthcare.
Reporting to the VP of Business Development and Partnerships, the Business Development Manager will focus on Coforma's Healthcare portfolio. You will implement Coforma’s growth strategy within the healthcare focus area. You will build relationships and understanding within and across project teams, partners, and stakeholders.
In this role, you’ll be critical in executing the overall business strategy and account planning to support Coforma’s strategic business development (BD) goals within our healthcare focus area. Coforma’s healthcare focus is to improve healthcare and access to healthcare services for all citizens through people, processes, and technology. Working with Coforma’s Account Directors, you’ll co-develop customer insights and map the healthcare ecosystem of customer needs in the federal, state, commercial, and non-profit sectors.
The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter, passionate about healthcare, and has experience with business development lifecycles, proposal management, and building strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners. As part of our growing business development team, you’ll play a key role in educating our teams and stakeholders, facilitating aligned opportunities, and selling diverse services that positively impact people’s access to healthcare services. Your expertise in aligning stakeholders, seeing proposals through to successful awards, and operating in a dynamic environment will launch your success at Coforma.
$117,420 to $143,170 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth Potential
Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers:
Tier 1: $117,420 — Meets minimum qualification/experience requirements. Beyond onboarding, will need additional guidance and training to perform key responsibilities of the role.
Tier 2: $130,810 — Experienced and fully-competent. Beyond onboarding, can independently perform key responsibilities of the role.
Tier 3: $143,170 — Highly-experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.

What You Can Expect — Business Development & Growth
Work under the guidance of a senior leader to strategize and drive healthcare-related business development initiatives
Support, coordinate, and help with the execution of all healthcare BD-related activities, including customer engagements, proposal development, competitive assessments, capture strategy development and execution, budget/pricing creation, attending conferences, and/or events
Create and grow mutually profitable client and partner relationships
Develop and regularly update formal Lead & Opportunity pursuit reviews per our methodologies, tools, or other resource systems
Support the full business and proposal management lifecycle until an award is made
Maintain and analyze a pipeline of opportunities to provide leadership with options and the best strategy to succeed
Work closely with various stakeholders throughout the company, including Growth leaders, Account Management teams, PMO, Finance, Delivery teams, and subject-matter experts
Identify and secure potential teaming partners (OEMs, Primes, Subcontractors, etc.) with a clear understanding of their complementary and strategic value to Coforma’s focus areas
Identify trends in customer purchasing patterns and enact specific plans to help the BD team capture a greater share of the business
Participate in Growth-team and organizational planning sessions
Maintain a broad understanding and application of Coforma’s capabilities and their importance to our customers
Represent the company at business networking opportunities, conferences, and events
Attend onsite customer meetings, business reviews, and industry days as needed
Articulate Coforma's value proposition to partners and customers
What You Can Expect — Bid & Proposal Support
Lead certain key bid/proposal activities, such as opportunity briefs, proposal kick-off briefs, RFP/RFQ, market research, capability statements, and more
Function as a member of the Proposal team, assisting with blue team strategy & presentation deck development, proposal kick-off & presentation, proposal review color teams, and preparation for oral presentations
Coordinate with appropriate resources to execute necessary legal and financial agreements, such as NDAs and teaming agreements, before RFP release
Identify key contract opportunities and maintain a two-year strategic pipeline
What You Know — Business Development & Growth
Familiarity and, ideally, some expertise, on how federal, commercial, or non-profit organizations procure, manage, and source funding/budgets
Demonstrated ability to conduct market and industry research analyses
Proven experience in pursuing and winning new and follow-on business, including building and leveraging relationships and developing effective teaming and win strategies
Experience developing and maintaining a robust pipeline within a CRM system
Experience employing industry intelligence-gathering tools (e.g., Govwin, BGov, GovTribe, etc)
Who You Are (Requirements)
3+ years of business development experience across marketing, digital services, or design within a studio context
2+ years of experience working on a remote team or remote freelancing
Able to complete a background check successfully
Able to travel to meet client and business requirements as needed
Excellent client relationship skills at the senior management level
Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to tailor verbal and written communication to a diverse range of stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Veteran of the US Armed Forces
Experience working with US federal agencies at the center of providing services, products, and access that enable people to have a high quality of life, such as CMS, NIH, CDC, etc., or similar commercial experience within commercial or non-profit organizations in a business development or similar capacity
Proven track record of successful business development and sales within federal, state/local, commercial, or non-profit healthcare space
Experience with procurement lifecycle, acquisition strategy, and forecasting
Demonstrated BD experience in digital services and experience design, specifically websites, mobile applications, digital experiences, and product development
Demonstrated digital marketing skills with a strong understanding of human-centered design, agile software development, and product development
Solid understanding and knowledge of federal contract vehicles and acquisition strategies such as GSA MAS/FSS, GWACs, IDIQs, set-aside, sole-source, multiple-award, etc.
Proven experience managing large client assignments with multiple senior stakeholders and large delivery teams
Strong commercial skills and business acumen

The salary range for this position is $117,420 to $143,170, in line with our company-wide equitable pay scale.
