Position Summary:
The Business Central Developer L3 role focuses on designing and implementing custom D365 Business Central solutions as well as administrating the of Business Central and Sales Pro environments for Pax8 partners and end-users.
For the development side, expert knowledge of the AL coding language and experience in solution design is essential for this role as well as a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies. The Business Central Developer L3 will lead projects from a development perspective and offer direction to the Business Application Consultation team on how the solution is designed and comprehensively scoped and time-quoted. They independently recognize and resolve inefficiencies in a solution to provide a concise and functioning end-product and are expected to guide any L1 and L2 Business Central Developers to ensure the end-product is built to a consistent standard. They will act as an escalation point for developers for more complex issues on other projects and support.
For the application administration side, they focus on managing Microsoft’s Major and Minor updates across all environments and are integral to the triaging of both performance and access related issues with the wider team. This includes supporting the wider team in troubleshooting issues which include, but not limited to, license provisioning/queries, environment technical issues, setup for Azure App Registrations and delegated admin access. They demonstrate broad understanding of the M365 eco system, the Power Platform, as well as Azure in the context of Business Central.
Essential Responsibilities:
Designing and executing development solutions
Provides reviews and time estimations for development scopes
Providing QA on development output and assisting support in development escalations
Aiding more junior development team members who are working on their project
Administration of Microsoft minor/major updates, deploying extensions/hotfixes/automation, and administrating any Business Central & Sales Pro tenant to tenant migrations
Business Central and Sales Pro tenant/environment setups
Support of wider team on a wide array of issues relating to licensing, environment, Launchpad and other areas
Drive your own personal development and performance improvements by participating in learning paths on Elev8, taking part in Pax8 L&D programs, receiving peer or manager coaching, taking on stretch projects or on the job training
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience with the following areas:
Microsoft Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics NAV – SaaS and On Prem
Both AL and C/AL programming languages
M365 & Azure
NCE Licensing and provisioning and triaging related issues
Escalation process with Microsoft Technical Support and supporting teams
Analyzing Business Central database size, and offering strategies to manage it
At least one (1) to two (2) of experience in the following:
Common integration techniques
Source control systems such as GitHub and Azure Repos
Knowledge of Boards in Azure DevOps
Highly organized detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Ability to design a functioning solution based on a basic client requirement
Ability to grasp complex ideas and change direction quickly in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels in English and other relevant languages depending on the market.

Required Education & Certifications:
B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience.
Microsoft MB800 or MB820 certifications preferred.
AZ900 and PL900 certifications desirable.
Other certification requirements may arise during the course of employment.
Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $95,000 or more depending on experience
