Associate Sales Engineer
Position Summary:
Our Sales Engineering leader at Perforce is searching for an Associate Sales Engineer to join the team. The Associate Sales Engineer at Perforce will be a role at the developmental level within the sales engineering team. Individuals in this position will be in the process of honing their expertise in sales engineering strategies and practices. They will own and assist in a variety of technical sales initiatives to identify customer solutions while balancing customer needs and challenges.
Responsibilities:
Plan, Manage and Execute technical validation for clients as part of the sales process
Assist and guide Puppet customers in technology adoption and customer success
Maintain regular contact and planning with a key set of accounts to assist them in understanding business problems and providing targeting solutions.
Assist the Puppet sales team in qualifying opportunities, balancing against customer needs and challenges
Generate and present demonstrations and presentations to various customer scenarios.
Collaborate with customers to generate Proofs of Concepts - Puppet experiences tailored to today’s challenges faced by an individual account.
Write proposals for Puppet services, helping extend or deploy Puppet technologies to a given scenario taking into consideration a customer’s unique needs
Generate technical responses to Requests for Information (RFI) or Requests for Proposals (RFP) for projects or software in which Puppet has a compelling use case in.
Keep up to date with key Puppet technologies, and other technologies related to the deployment and use of our software.
Participate in sales planning, QBRs, and strategic initiatives that create a pipeline, up-sell the account, and drive competitive displacements.
Play a proactive 'Technical Account Management' role within your target accounts including building a trusted relationship, retaining an understanding of the customers, and contributing to business development activities
Present at Puppet and Industry events
Update and maintain relevant customer information databases, between customer success and sales
Requirements:
Technical Degree and or 2 Years of Infrastructure Operational/Administrative Experience
Passion to continually learn and grow your technical and social skills.
Drive to reduce the toil of your job, and the jobs of others by using automation
Solid verbal and written communication skills
In-person/remote video conference presentation skills
Basic understanding of the key technologies including git-based version control
Containers and related frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes, or others)
Public and Private Clouds experience (AWS, Azure, Openstack, VMware)
Scripting or programming skills preferred (Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.)
Optional Unix &/or Linux SysAdmin or DevOps background, including the value of automation
Optional Windows systems administration experience, including Microsoft PowerShell
Optional Infrastructure automation experience in on-premises and cloud environments
Ability to handle and overcome objections
Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
Ability to work in an unstructured environment
Limited travel ability
Ability to work in our London office one day per week
