We’re looking for an experienced product counsel with 10+ years of legal experience, preferably with 5+ years in-house.  As Associate General Counsel, you will work closely with Reddit’s consumer product and engineering teams to provide legal guidance on a wide range of legal issues, including privacy, copyright, intermediary liability, and content safety.  A successful candidate will be passionate about collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to solve complex legal problems, and working at the cutting edge of law and technology.

What You’ll Do:

  • Advise Reddit’s consumer product teams through all stages of product development on how to navigate potential legal risks.

  • Analyze new and existing regulations that are relevant to Reddit’s consumer products, and work with product teams to translate legal requirements into product requirements and implement those requirements.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to help product teams anticipate and plan for future regulatory requirements.

  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and deep product knowledge.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.). You are locally licensed in your jurisdiction, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions.

  • 10+ years of legal experience, at a top law firm or in-house, with 5+ years of in-house product counseling experience.

  • Experience with intermediary liability and online safety issues, including compliance with international regulations like the EU Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills

  • Ability to assess risk strategically and help clients manage risk while achieving their goals

  • Program/project management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams
