Associate General Counsel - Product
We’re looking for an experienced product counsel with 10+ years of legal experience, preferably with 5+ years in-house. As Associate General Counsel, you will work closely with Reddit’s consumer product and engineering teams to provide legal guidance on a wide range of legal issues, including privacy, copyright, intermediary liability, and content safety. A successful candidate will be passionate about collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to solve complex legal problems, and working at the cutting edge of law and technology.
What You’ll Do:
Advise Reddit’s consumer product teams through all stages of product development on how to navigate potential legal risks.
Analyze new and existing regulations that are relevant to Reddit’s consumer products, and work with product teams to translate legal requirements into product requirements and implement those requirements.
Serve as a strategic partner to help product teams anticipate and plan for future regulatory requirements.
Develop strong cross-functional relationships and deep product knowledge.
What We’re Looking For:
Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.). You are locally licensed in your jurisdiction, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions.
10+ years of legal experience, at a top law firm or in-house, with 5+ years of in-house product counseling experience.
Experience with intermediary liability and online safety issues, including compliance with international regulations like the EU Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent judgment and analytical skills
Ability to assess risk strategically and help clients manage risk while achieving their goals
Program/project management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams
