As the first Android engineer of this pod, you will act as a connector unlocking opportunities across other parts of Teachable’s engineering teams that will deliver more value to our customers. In addition, there are Android and iOS teams at Hotmart, which can provide support for you too. And at Teachable, there is already an iOS team, which will also help with the beginning of Android development.
What is the role?
As am Android Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Android application. You will work closely with cross-functional teams from Hotmart and Teachable to evolve our code, as well as collaborate with product managers, designers and other developers.Our creators want a best-in-class mobile experience and we want to help them achieve their goals by building an Android app to expand our mobile audience. Android represents a big part of our web traffic, this is an opportunity and audience we’re excited to serve!
In this position, you will work remotely with Teachable’s US based teams as well as Hotmart employees based in Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. We are hiring talented engineers in Brazil. This is a CLT contract that pays in $BRL.
In this role you'll:
Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and QA engineers to build high-quality products with third party integrations
Contribute to the technical design and architecture of services, databases and applications across the organization
Execute on our product development roadmap to drive the progression of our stack and our team at large
Write simple, clean, high-quality, well-tested software that delivers user value
Seek out ways to bring in new perspective to our design, coding and testing best practices as well as supporting review processes (i.e. design, code, postmortem)
Contribute and shape the overall culture and collaboration practices of the team
What You'll Bring:
With 2-3+ years of hands-on experience of experience in Android application development with a focus on Kotlin, ideally in an agile, startup environment
Who has a knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration with backend services
Who has demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
Who embodies the “leave the code base better than how you found it” mentality
Who has played a key role in designing and implementing technical projects with multiple team members with varying experiences
Who has contributed to architecture discussions to drive technical decisions on your team
Who is humble, collaborative, service-oriented and a fast learner
Who upholds Teachable and Hotmart’s Engineering values, including working as part of a diverse team
Technical knowledge in:
Clean architecture, SOLID principles and design patterns.
Architectural patterns: MVVM e MVI.
Unit and automated tests
Modularization and dependency injection
Async processing using Coroutines and Kotlin Flow.
Android Jetpack components.
Android Compose.
Nice to have:
Player: Exoplayer and Media3.
CI/CD pipelines
Publishing apps (Play console and Firebase)
Code obfuscation (proguard, dexguard)
Memory management (memory leak)
