Brightwheel is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing Accounting team! You thrive in environments, where you can roll up your sleeves and drive key areas including accounting, reporting, internal controls, and compliance. You’re process-minded, detail-oriented, and keen on building efficient and scalable systems. As a collaborative team player, you bring strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships across teams, including People, Operations, and other cross-functional partners. What You'll Do
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and other reports, according to schedule, including consolidation and reporting
Prepare journal entries related to payroll and other transactions, account reconciliations
Drive improvement for the month-end and year-end close process
Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Maintain procure-to-pay platform
Update sales tax filings for various states
Assist with audits and tax returns as needed
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities
BS degree in Accounting or Finance; (CPA) preferred
5-7 years of public accounting experience
Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing and meeting multiple tight deadlines in a fast-growing environment with frequently changing priorities
Knowledge of GAAP and familiar with financial accounting statements, including consolidation and reporting
Experienced with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Process improvement mindset
Experience working with NetSuite Oracle, TaxJar, Avalara, Airbase, Floquast
$90,500 - $150,000 a year
Brightwheel is committed to internal pay equity and offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, equity, and benefits. For cash compensation, brightwheel sets standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Multiple factors determine final offer amounts, including geographic location, candidate experience, and expertise.
