DirectDefense is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks while adhering to GAAP. This role involves completing sales tax submissions, updating ledgers, managing employee expenses, and preparing financial reports. You will support the accounting team in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.
Responsibilities:
Clerical & Routine Accounting Tasks:
• Perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks, while adhering to GAAP.
• Complete monthly/quarterly/yearly sales tax submissions and assist with corporate tax filings.
• Update ledgers, research, and resolve discrepancies.
Expense Management:
• Conduct weekly review and payout of employee expense reporting and billable expense management.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to management on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, sales tax computations, and other accounting duties promptly.
Communication & Coordination:
• Respond appropriately to vendor, client, and internal requests promptly.
Experience:
• Proven experience in accounting or a related field.
• Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
