TerrAscend is looking for an Accountant, Fixed Assets and Leases, to support our growing organization as an enterprise-wide owner for recording and analyzing facility costs of the organization. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting TerrAscend’s growth. Working directly for the Corporate Controller and working closely with Facilities and regional finance teams across the organization, this role will support unified reporting, analytics through data and insightful analysis for decision making. The role will be a key partner to the enterprise.
We are looking for a proactive contributor who will help standardize the fixed asset and lease accounting function for the organization as we are poise for growth. In this role, you will be responsible for building and unifying our facility P&L costs through consistent recording and reporting. Supporting the entire organization, you will improve the overall fiscal performance by providing key indicators to management for decision making. The role will work closely with the corporate FP&A function as well as Senior Leadership team at both the Business Units and TerrAscend Corporate.
To be blunt, this person will be:
Responsible for recording of all enterprise-wide fixed asset and lease entries
Lead the consistent recording and framework of enterprise-wide recording of fixed asset and lease accounting throughout the organization through consistent and repeatable processes
Performs review of all posting into the Fixed Asset Module (FAM) within the system for all entities to validate entry by accounts payable for accuracy
Partners with accounting and leadership to understand investments in fixed assets and accurate in-service timing.
Ensures consistency and accuracy in fixed asset depreciation posting to general ledger accounts and related cost center reporting
Works closely with Facilities and IT teams to assure accuracy of reporting
Provides monthly CAPEX reporting to the business and completes required Roll forward reporting
Responsible for maintaining all leases in the Lease Accounting software and posting related monthly lease accounting entries to the related operating entities.
Performs balance sheet reconciliations for all fixed asset and lease related accounts, including timely resolution of reconciling items
Works closely with the external reporting team quarterly to provide required 10-Q or 10-K disclosure information
Supports external audit requests and inquires related to fixed asset and lease accounting
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Provide ad hoc monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalents, in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
2+ years of accounting experience, including multi-entity organizations
Experience with application of ASC 360 and ASC 842
Prior experience managing fixed asset and lease schedules
Able to build and sustain strong relationships at multiple levels internally and with partners
Ability to provide analytical analysis and insightful recommendations as requested
Knowledge of end-to-end financial reporting activities
Demonstrate ability to work in a manner conducive to our company’s core values
